December Dressing
What to wear for the weather, events, and even a trip.
I know I’ve slacked off on fashion posts so I put together six outfits to help get you through December in style.
The temperature dropped significantly in New York which means it’s time to break out the heavy coats and all the warm accessories. This is an outfit that I would wear not only in NYC but also Paris, except I’d swap out the tote for a crossbody bag.
I’d also layer the sweater over a Uniqlo Heattech tee for extra warmth on a cold day. They’re currently on sale until 12/11 too.
When it’s really frigid in NYC, a shearling is often a chicer and warmer option than a puffer coat. This outfit would be perfect for holiday luncheon or a Nutcracker matinee.
When I’m wearing a heavy coat, sometimes I’ll wear a silk scarf instead of a wool scarf because I don’t need as many layers.
You won’t just be a mom, you’ll be a cool mom in this outfit for the school run or helping with homework. If it’s too cold for flats, you could try these shearling lined ones or these boots.

When you want to make a statement at a holiday soiree or the office Christmas party, choose this dress instead of basic black.

Are you headed to sunnier skies and warmer weather? How about this chic pink suit. It also comes with shorts if you want to make multiple outfits.

If you have plans to attend a fancy shindig or perhaps the opening night of the opera, this outfit is for you.
If you ask me, we don’t wear enough evening coats. This one is a splurge but you could also try this one and this coat.

Wow - everything is just beautiful and so unlike all the other holiday posts I have seen. Wish I had somewhere to go . (And someone else’s AMEX… 😛 for 15 minutes.) Happy Happy Holidays and all the best for 2026.
That Valentino coat! I have a vintage velvet with fake fur trim that I bought years ago that I used to wear when going out. It’s one of the cheapest things I ever bought and I’ll never tire of it.
