Wonderful article/post...inspired to watch the French and English version of La Piscine plus the 2 other recommended films. Love the in depth research you do for your posts, so enriching for us...thank you!!!
Thank you Heather! What a fascinating story. Can't wait to watch the film. I have seen A bigger Splash, loved the clothes in that one. Again, I really appreciate all your posts Heather !
Fantastic piece of fine writing and research on this cinematographic masterpiece. I've had a fascinated with Alain, Romy and La Piscine since the age of 11, now I'm 50...I've read alot on them. I might add, Alain insisted on having Romy on the cast, because he wanted her back and he hoped to reunite. He realised that all was over and he felt their love again through his/theirs 'acting'. Painful story.
With his passing, a big chunk of my childhood simply went. I've grown up with French literature, films, magazines, I've studied French for about 10 years, the whole culture had been embedded into my being.
