We made it! It’s finally February! The forecast calls for temps in the 50s next week so let’s take a look at how you can start transitioning to spring when there is still a chill in the air but you are ready to burn all your winter clothes.
One great way to brighten up the end of winter is with some color. This spring icy pink wool coat is a great follow up to my Think Pink post this week. I especially love pink shades that veer into lilac which looks great with neutrals and grey.
Layer the coat over a checked wool-blend blazer and ivory tie-neck silk blouse. If it’s still cold, swap the blouse for a soft lavender colored cashmere crewneck sweater or throw it over your shoulder in lieu of a scarf.
There comes a time in winter when even I get tired of trousers and I’m ready to throw on jeans like these mid-rise twisted-seam straight jeans with flats or loafers. These pale green suede loafers will definitely put a spring in your step.
I’m really loving tweed Chanel bags for spring and luckily, there are some chic ones available on resale sites right now. I love the colors of this Chanel classic medium tweed double flap bag so much, I may need to buy it for myself.
Big gold earrings like these gold French rope earrings are a great way to brighten up your pale winter visage.
Pistache rings like this Eloïse ring are another great way to add some color to your outfit.
See the world in whole new light with these rose colored sunglasses.
You can wear pink that looks like a neutral with this belted double-breasted wool and cashmere-blend coat.
One way to wear it is over a sandy colored linen and wool blazer and silk utility-pocket shirt. Pair them with the ivory wool-twill trousers when you need to be dressed up or dress them down with the mid-rise twisted-seam straight jeans from above.
If it’s still cold, swap out the blouse for the oatmeal crewneck sweater.
Add some texture and color with the tweed ballet flats and the vintage red Hermès box Bolide bag. If you’d rather have neutrals, try these light caramel leather ballet flats and this tan leather tote bag.
For jewelry, I suggest the baby gold knot earrings and gold-plated crystal ring.
Finish things off with pink sunglasses.
I’m still not allowed to buy another coat but I love this petrol colored handmade oversized wool coat so much. The quality is great for the price too. I know this because I have the tan version from a few years ago.
Layer the coat over the grey plaid wool-blend double-breasted blazer and ivory silk utility-pocket shirt. I bought this blouse in two colors and will wear it with jeans in the spring.
If it’s still cold, swap out the blouse with the pale pink cashmere sweater or throw it over your shoulders.
These charcoal grey wool pants are a great transitional trouser. You could swap out the jeans in the first outfit with these grey pants too.
The pink patent leather Mary Jane flats are perfect for wet days.
Another great vintage bag is this Chanel tweed quilted mini rectangular flap crossbody bag.
Finish this outfit off with gold textured earrings, burgundy coated-wood ring, and Khaite burgundy sunglasses.
Happy February!

HC
When February sun shines cold
There comes a day when in the air
The wings of winter slow unfold
And show the golden summer there.
