Awesome post and so well timed. Second your Rome recommendations. It was 90 degrees there every day when I was there a few weeks ago but it’s a different drier heat vs NYC. I wore my “Rome Uniform” in the hells front porch of NYC weather yesterday and nearly keeled over from humidity. Not sure if you’d agree but I always keep a light cashmere cardigan in my bag because at any second you walk into a meat locker of a/c. So good to be prepared.
It's not a bad idea to bring along a cardigan or jacket in the US but definitely don't need it anywhere in Europe in the summer. Even the airports are hot.
Another lovely post to read (especially in this Parisian heat)! Always inspiring. I actually bought the beige buttoned linen dress from Cos last week, and it looks so pretty with burgundy loafers!
Oh Heather. I too did not care for Rome. I did enjoy Florence and Milan. We are planning another trip to Italy in the fall and will re-visit Rome because it really could not have been that bad, right? Perfect post, as always.
I remember when visiting my family in France in the summer was a welcome reprieve from the heat and humidity in the Northeastern US. Not so much anymore.
Oh this is GOOD!! Not only is the fashion chic, the travel tips are so fun and useful. The bonus for me is- as always - is your writing…FULL sentences! GRAMMER! Your writing has always been so good Heather, but I really think in the last few years your voice has gotten stronger, more sure and with a humor and style all your own. Always looking forward to what you share with us.
I think I have to pull the trigger on those Prada rope sandals! This was a great post and thanks for the film suggestions! And the reminder to read Hemingway. Am in need of an escape right now! 🤍

I’ve been thinking about those Prada rope sandals and regret not picking them up in Florence!!!! 🫠
Sounds like you need to book another trip to Italy asap!

How fun! Definitely too hot for loafers here now but sounds like a good way to transition it to fall.

Let me know what you think after you visit again!
Love this post! It’s 95 degrees where I live in France this weekend, so need all the help I can get. Thank you and bon weekend!
Bon courage Sophia !

I know. Climate change is real and they got away without AC for a long time but the temperatures have soared in recent years.
I love the dresses, especially the orange one. What a great color for summer.
So glad to hear. Thank you!

Did you see the thong version too? You might like them better.
I didn’t! Will look now. I love the one you posted but that might be more me if like K Jacques thong. Thanks! 😍
Fantastic and thoughtful recommendations. Especially the literature. 😎
Lovely post. Unfortunately, Cos doesn’t carry the orange bubble hem dress in Belgium; I bought the navy. A good tip, though.
Navy is definitely much easier to wear so I'm glad you bought that color.
